Practictioner Story
Practitioner Story

I have worked in women’s health care for over 35 years and have been attending births and supporting families since 2004. I have a lot of practical experience as well as extensive education and training. I am the mother of two amazing young women.

I am dedicated to providing supportive birth, postpartum and breastfeeding services to women and their families. I would love to help you and your family have a more satisfying and empowering birth and postpartum experience. Whatever your vision – I want to help you

achieve it!

I have a wide variety of hobbies and interests but the thing I am most passionate about is babies, birth and breastfeeding. I believe that every woman deserves support throughout her pregnancy, labor and birth and during the transition into parenthood. My ultimate goal is to make sure my clients have evidence based information to make truly informed decisions, mother the mother, and support the family as a whole. Every woman, every birth, and every baby is unique and special.

About Practice
About Practice

Childbearing women and their babies were nurtured, cared for and supported through an extensive family structure. This consisted of grandmothers, aunts, cousins, siblings, and friends who were available, willing and able to help care for the “newborn family." Today, in our American culture and society, we are missing this important lesson in regard to how families were so wonderfully supported during birth, the postpartum period and beyond. It is so important for a new mom to be able to take care of herself so that she has the energy to care of her baby.

As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Beth offers in home consultations, both prenatal and postpartum and teaches prenatal breastfeeding classes.

Research shows that mothers who receive help in the early days tend to have an easier time breastfeeding and tend to breastfeed longer.

Beth teaches both group and private childbirth classes based on the Lamaze Healthy Birth Practices. The Healthy Birth Practices represent "evidence-based care," which is the gold standard for maternity care worldwide.

In addition, Beth does placenta encapsulation, which is the process of preparing the mother’s placenta after the birth of her baby by dehydrating, powdering and placing it into vegetarian

non-gelatin capsules for the mother to ingest as she sees fit. The purpose of the mother ingesting encapsulated placenta is to reintroduce the beneficial vitamins, minerals, hormones, proteins and other nutrients to her body following labor and birth to help restore a more balanced body function, assist in the prevention of “baby blues” and the more serious postpartum depression, shorten healing time, increase maternal energy levels, and provide an over-all feeling of wellness. Beth uses the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) process of placenta encapsulation.
